The client requested gold leaf to achieve an elegant and sophisticated look. However, there were some challenges to overcome due to the thick glass with UV film, which made gilding on the inside of the doors impossible because of the dark tint. To maintain the refined aesthetic while ensuring the gold would stand the test of time, I decided to gild on the exterior of the glass. This approach allowed the gold to shine with a matte finish, providing a unique visual effect. I further protected the gold by applying a clear coat, ensuring the signs would remain vibrant and durable for many years, perfectly in line with the gallery's polished image.
