PROJECT VISION
This 1960s Porsche, affectionately named “The Creature,” came with an incredible story. Originally owned by Elaine Cotter, who raced it with her husband in the 1970s, the car’s current owners wanted to preserve its history while adding hand-painted details. The goal was to recreate the iconic “The Creature” lettering inspired by the movie The Creature from the Blue Lagoon and add personalized touches that celebrated its racing heritage.
CREATIVE APPROACH
Using “Sublime Green” enamel paint, I carefully hand-painted the vintage lettering, ensuring it matched the car’s unique character and history. To further elevate the project, I gilded the number 33 in 23kt gold on the glove box. The unfinished gold leaf detail was a deliberate choice, symbolizing the car’s untouched charm and honoring Elaine and her husband’s racing legacy.
This project was a tribute to the car’s rich past, blending artistry with authenticity to celebrate its flaws, beauty, and spirit.
